Milia, most commonly known as milk spots in lay terms, are common and typically appear as white/yellowish minute spots on the upper face around the eyes. Often mistaken for white heads, milia are formed by entrapped keratin. (As found in hair and nails) and do not cause symptoms other than being not particularly sightly.
The removal of milia is pretty straight forward with the right instruments. I prefer to use C02 laser to make a nick on the overlying skin and then release the keratin inclusion with an extractor. There is virtually no down time and the skin heals scarlessly.
