What is a chemical peel?
As the name implies, this treatment uses a chemical to peel off the surface skin layer as a means of skin rejuvenation. We use the Obagi Blue Peel, which has trichloroacetic acid as its active ingredient.
The Obagi Blue Peel is suitable for men and women of all skin types and colours. It works by removing thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin from the face and other areas. The underlying skin layers are in turn stimulated to form a revived and rejuvenated surface with improved skin clarity and texture, producing a healthier and more youthful appearance.
What can Chemical Peels treat?
This treatment is suitable for fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, acne, oily skin and prominent pores. It can be used on the face, neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs.
How does it work?
The treatment process takes about 20 minutes, during which the Blue Peel will be applied in layers to the targeted areas. A mild to moderate burning sensation may be experienced with each layer of application.
The skin will begin to peel within two to three days and will continue for several days. There will be an initial redness in the treated area and the skin will also feel tight for a short period. Recovery takes on average seven to ten days.
This treatment is £450 on its own or £650 including a 6 week post treatment skin care set.
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance uses a lighter concentration of the acid to give an exfoliating and lightening effect. It is ideal for the busy individuals who require minimal downtime with maximal results.
This treatment is £120 although this price may alter depending on the size of the area.
