As we enter the new year, we would like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for your trust and support throughout the past year. It has been an incredible journey, and we are thrilled to have shared it with each and every one of you.

In 2023, we have performed nearly 1000 surgical procedures, 1300 non-surgical procedures, and sold more than 2000 skincare products.

We have welcomed three new Consultant Plastic Surgeons – Ms. Maria Athanasiadou, Mr. Mohamad Maher, Mr. George Filobbos – and one new Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon – Mr. Seni Mylvaganam, bringing the total number of surgeons on our team to nine.

Our Non-Surgical Team is delighted to announce that Dr. Sonia Khorana has taken over as our in-house lead Aesthetic Doctor and will be increasing her hours to full-time at the clinic starting in April.

Our Dental Team continues to grow as the Orthodontic team, providing Invisalign, increases their sessions at Kat & Co. We also expect our highly sought-after Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Shobna Chauhan, to increase her time at the clinic to meet the increased demands for her expertise.

The Gynaecology Team saw their first patient in September, providing a one-stop service with ultrasound diagnosis and treatment. We expect the service to grow as women continue to face difficulties in accessing appointments in the NHS.

Dr. Jayawardena has joined Dr. Simon Khela in our Private GP Team. The team has received numerous five-star reviews as they provide patients with instant access to health screening, advice, and treatments. Their services include sexual health, mental health, travel clinics, and dedicated weight loss clinics which may include Ozempic (Wegovy) injections.

We have fulfilled our other 2023 plans of providing you with access to finance options and private medical insurance, including BUPA. We have also achieved my personal goal of supporting sustainability by driving recycling and energy conservation. I hope you have noticed the new recycling bins.

We had a highly anticipated inspection by the CQC (independent regulator of health and social care in England) in September. The event was a great success. While awaiting the full report, we have received the following initial feedback:
– Attention to detail in infection prevention and control, with good adherence to expected standards.
– Good understanding of safeguarding among all staff groups.
– Focus on future-proofing the business through the development of new treatment options, reflecting a motivated and driven team.
– Effective standards of governance in promoting team cohesion and a safety culture.

Finally, our exciting plans for 2024 include:
– Introducing an award-winning medical-grade skincare range – AlumierMD. Our dermatology expert, Dr. Sonia, has kept up with the latest developments in skincare and has added AlumierMD to our current skincare products. Look out for more information about this exciting product in the next few months. Personally, my favorite aspect of these products is that they are clean – formulated without the use of artificial dyes and fragrances, parabens, sulfates, BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole), and BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene).

– Kat & Co has gained a strong reputation as the Midland’s lymphatic drainage (MLD) center for both post-surgery recovery and overall well-being. To meet the increasing demand, Ameena Aziz RGN, specializing in holistic treatments and manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), will join the team in the New Year.

– Introducing an exciting new range of silicone breast implants, Motiva, to our breast augmentation service. These breast implants can be inserted through a 2 cm incision in either the breast crease or through the armpit. Stay tuned for more information in the upcoming months.

– We have welcomed a new Business Development Manager, Lesley Percy, to our senior management team. Alongside Marija Ninic-Todorovich, our Clinic Manager, they will uphold our tradition of providing the highest standard of care. Feedback is invaluable for improvement, so please let Lesley know of any new services we can provide to make your journey seamless.

As the Clinic Director, I am extremely proud of the progress we have made together since 2019 when we started off as a single surgeon practice. Our commitment to innovation, patient satisfaction, and safety sets us apart, and we are determined to raise the bar even higher in the coming year.
