Request for mole removal is very common in our clinic.
The traditional method of cutting out the mole is effective but it leaves a scar. All scars fade with time but to varying degrees.
Since 2010, after acquiring our fractional CO2 laser, we have been using the laser to ablate moles, skin tags and other skin lesions. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic. It is quick (less than 30 mins), relatively painfree and more importantly scarless. There is no need for messy stitches or dressings. The wound heals within 2 weeks. Redness can persist for a few months but invariably fades. It is important to protect the wound with sunblock in sun exposed areas to avoid pigmentation. Multiple lesions can be treated in the same session.
Indications for removal are :
- skin tags
